Tarangire National Park Day Trip

ITINERARY

We will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and after around 2-3 hour drive, you will reach the Tarangire National Park. This area was a favorite hunting ground for Hemmingway during his big game safaris, but fortunately today cameras have replaced the need for hunting rifles. Tarangire National Park boasts the highest concentration of elephants in North Tanzania, with herds often numbering up to 300 animals. The Tarangire River provides a year-round water source, attracting numerous animals from the surrounding areas during the dry season (July to October). If you visit the park during this time, you will witness a remarkable spectacle as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various antelope and gazelle species gather at the river to drink. With some luck, you may even spot a python! The dry season is also a paradise for bird enthusiasts, with over 550 different species, including the Masai Ostrich, the largest bird in the world. After a lunch break at a suitable picnic spot, the afternoon will be dedicated to further wildlife observation. Before sunset, we will transport you back to your hotel in Arusha.
